In the process of preparing lessons, I will be using the 1984 edition of the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible. It is widely recognized as the most literal translation while at the same time being the most readable. There are, of course, numerous other translations that are either more literal or more readable. Nevertheless, they are all essentially accurate with respect to the spirit of their translation. I must also confess that I have been using my particular Bible for many years and it has countless notes in the margins along with notes to my children so it happens to be very important to me personally as well. If I reference a verse from some other Bible translation, I will make a notation of that.
